Scheduling & Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Notice:

  • Standard sessions (50 min): 24 hour notice required

  • Cancellations with less notice and no-shows are charged at the full rate

Rescheduling:

  • Sessions can be rescheduled with appropriate notice (24 hours)

  • Last-minute emergencies handled case-by-case

  • Frequent rescheduling may result in losing your time slot

Session Scheduling:

  • Sessions must be scheduled in advance (minimum 48 hours preferred)

  • Recurring weekly slots receive priority booking

Payment Policy

Payment Timing:

  • Full charge owed at time of booking

Accepted Payment Methods:

  • PayPal (Debit, Credit cards)

  • Stripe (Credit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay)

Refund Policy:

  • Single sessions: Refundable with 24-hour notice

Session Conduct Policy

Student Preparation:

  • Students should bring current coursework, homework, or practice tests and send pictures or files for Dr. Mara to review in advance when possible

  • For test preparation, students should complete the assigned practice between sessions

  • Come with specific questions when possible (though general review is fine too)

Parent/Guardian Communication:

  • Progress updates provided upon request

  • Parents welcome to sit in on sessions for students under 18

  • Major concerns communicated immediately

Recording Policy:

  • Students may take notes during sessions

  • Audio/video recording requires advance permission

  • Screen recordings of online sessions are not permitted without consent

Location & Format Policy

Online Sessions:

  • Reliable internet connection required

  • Camera must be on for engagement and safety

  • Digital whiteboard and video platform provided

  • Technical issues on my end: session rescheduled at no charge

  • Technical issues on the student's end: charged as normal unless recurring problem

Academic Integrity Policy

My Role:

  • I teach concepts and problem-solving strategies

  • I help students understand and work through homework

Communication Policy

Response Time:

  • Email responses within 24 hours (business days)

  • Quick questions between sessions: answered via email at no charge

  • Extended email tutoring (multiple back-and-forth exchanges) may count as partial session time

Boundaries:

  • Available for scheduling/questions Monday-Friday, 12 PM - 8 PM, though it is up to my discretion if I will respond outside these hours

  • Emergency exam prep requests handled case-by-case

Weather & Emergency Policy

Severe Weather:

  • Online sessions proceed unless power/internet is affected

  • No charge for weather cancellations

Illness Policy:

  • If the student is sick: reschedule with no penalty (please give as much notice as possible)

  • If I am sick: session rescheduled at no charge

Termination Policy

I Reserve the Right to Discontinue Services if:

  • Student is consistently unprepared or disengaged

  • Payment issues persist

  • Student or parent is disrespectful or inappropriate

  • Academic dishonesty occurs

Students May Discontinue:

  • At any time

Privacy & Confidentiality

Student Information:

  • Student work and progress kept confidential

  • Progress shared only with parents/guardians (if student under 18)

  • Testimonials or success stories are non-identifiable

Data Storage:

  • Student materials stored securely and deleted after 1 year

  • No sharing of student information with third parties
