Frequently Asked Questions

What services do you offer?

I offer online tutoring for high school and college chemistry — including AP, IB, and honors courses — along with SAT, ACT, and GRE prep. Sessions are interactive: we work through problems together on a shared digital whiteboard, so it feels less like a lecture and more like working side-by-side.

How many tutoring sessions do I need to see a score increase?

It depends on where you're starting and what you're aiming for, but most students see a real shift within 6–10 sessions. For test prep, I start every new student with a diagnostic so we're not guessing — then we build a plan around your actual deadline.

How do you handle "math anxiety" in Chemistry & the GRE?

Honestly, most math anxiety comes from being taught rules without reasons. When you understand why a formula works, it stops feeling like memorization. I focus on the logic behind the math — whether that's stoichiometry or GRE geometry — until it clicks.

How can I improve my SAT or ACT score quickly?

The fastest gains usually come from learning the test, not relearning math. Test-makers use predictable patterns and traps — once you can recognize them, you stop losing points to mistakes you know how to avoid. We focus on the high-frequency topics first.

What math concepts are covered in the GRE Quantitative section?

It's essentially high school math (read: Algebra, Geometry, and Data Analysis) but written to be confusing. The biggest challenge is the Quantitative Comparison format, which tests your reasoning rather than calculation. That's where most people lose points, so that's where we spend our time.

Can you help with Chemistry lab reports and data analysis?

Yes. Lab reports are stressful partly because the data never looks the way you expect it to. I can help you interpret what your results actually mean, work through percent error or yield calculations, and make sure your analysis holds up before you submit.
