Dr. Mara earned her Ph.D. in Chemistry from Northwestern University, where her research in peptide chemistry and biomaterials led to a prestigious national fellowship, multiple peer-reviewed publications, and three pending patents. She's spent her career thinking analytically and solving complex problems — and that same instinct is what helps her quickly pinpoint where a student is getting stuck and figure out the best way to help.

She has over a decade of experience teaching chemistry at every level, from regular and honors to AP and college courses, as well as tutoring for standardized tests. All sessions are virtual, making it easy to connect from anywhere. Dr. Mara's goal is for every student to walk away from each session feeling more confident, more capable, and genuinely less intimidated by chemistry.
